Leonor Saúde

Leonor Saúde graduated in Biology by the University of Aveiro and completed a Masters degree in Biotechnology by Instituto Superior Técnico. Leonor obtained her PhD degree in Developmental Biology by the University College London, under the supervision of Dr. Derek Stemple at the MRC-NIMR (London) and then moved to Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência (Oeiras), where she did a Post-doc under the supervision of Prof. Isabel Palmeirim.

 

Leonor established her own independent group in 2005 in Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência and then in 2008 her group moved to Instituto de Medicina Molecular, where she was appointed Director of the Embryonic Development and Regeneration Laboratory and also Director of the Fish Facility

Leonor is an invited Professor of Embryology and Histology at Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Lisboa. She is also the vice-President of the Portuguese Society for Developmental Biology (http://www.spbd.pt) and the President of Associação Viver a Ciência (http://viveraciencia.org).
